With a background in Education, Counselling and Psychology, David Citer is fully registered with the Australian Counselling Association. He has been working as a Specialist Child, Adolescent and Family Therapist and Clinical Services Manager for 20 years in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Facilities and Adolescent Residential Units.
David helped to set up and run one of the first Adolescent, Drug and Alcohol Units in NSW for the Ted Noffs Foundation, on the Cumberland Hospital Campus, where most of David’s clients were Juvenile Justice clients, who were legally mandated to attend residential treatment for 3 months, under David’s clinical care and management.
David has also worked in Accident and Emergency and Community Health for various Local Health Districts, where he was responsible for counselling Children, Adolescents, Adults and Families in the aftermath of Trauma, Suicide Ideation, Drug and Alcohol abuse, Depression and Anxiety and was responsible for pioneering several group, school and parenting programs across NSW.
In the year 2007, David pioneered the unique Clinical Model of Care at Ku-ring-gai Youth Development Service (KYDS), which David managed for the next 8 years, establishing a plethora of early intervention school programs, parenting education, group programs and individual counselling models across Northern Sydney.
David is now very excited to bring 20 years of experience to private practice. David specializes in generalist counselling for children, adolescents and adults.

His clinics are open Monday to Friday 10.00 am to 8.00pm.

In June 2013 David Citer was awarded a “Paul Harris Fellow” for his many years of contribution to the field of Mental Health by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
